Boost e-Newsletter Reach With Social Media Sharing Icons
There's a simple way to widen the reach of your blog and e-newsletter articles, and look like you're social media-savvy at the same time (without actually having to be . . .). Incorporate social media "sharing" icons into your e-newsletter.
You don't need a Facebook page or a Twitter presence to use these "Share" options. Here's how:
1. The full article to be shared must be on a web page -- like your blog or website. Place the article on its own page.
2. On Facebook, Linked In, and Twitter, you'll find "sharing" icons that you can incorporate into your own e-newsletter, along with the script (programming code).
Sharing on Facebook
On Facebook:
- Click the "Advertising" tab at the bottom of your home page
- Choose the "Share" tab at the top of the next page to obtain a Facebook icon and the script you'll need.
- Place the icon and script within your e-newsletter. When a newsletter recipient clicks on the Facebook icon, a link to the web page with your article will be placed on the recipient's wall.
Sharing on LinkedIn
On LinkedIn:
1. Select "Developers" at the bottom of your home page.
2. Choose the "Get Started" option under "LinkedIn Widgets."
3. Then select "Share on LinkedIn", and click "Get the code."
